This is my second attempt at detailing a BN SD60M. The first one was about half way done when it fell off the workbench and busted into pieces. Maybe it was a good thing, because there were some aspects of it that I didn't like, which were fixed on this loco. I did quite a few mods on this loco, more then I usually do, and I think they paid off. Mostly it's the fuel tank and air tanks that I like. I sanded off that stupid line in the middle of the fuel tank, and cut out the stock air tanks. I added some Sunrise Ent. air tanks, positioned in the correct place above the fuel tank. A pain to do, yes, but I like the way they pop out.
Although this loco is too new for my May 1988 modeling time period, I really dig this body style and "cyclops" cab.

Details include:
BLMA cut levers, MU hoses, air hoses, windshield wipers, rear veiw mirrors, sunshades, 18" grabs and lift rings
Sunrise Ent. plow
Atlas Bell
Atlas large MU hose
custom made firecracker antenna
relocated NSN brass horn
Modified fuel tank
Sunrise Ent. air tanks
frame rails added
brake lines added to trucks
Painted walkway black and other misc. painted parts
weathered with chalks
Z scale couplers

Stock (9206 is the same)
