Seems like I have a thing for BN locos. I should be doing more SP and ATSF locos but something keeps me coming back to the green weenies. The prototype BN GP40 was rebuilt by Morrison-Knudsen to GP40-2 specs in late 1988. Just a stretch from my May 1988 modeling time frame, but I can look the other way when it shows up in pool service on the OVS. I had bought a bunch of these Atlas locos way back when I was modeling 1990 so there might be a few more show up in the loco details page (and a few might show up on ebay as well) As far as details are concerned, BN locos are pretty easy to do, they don't require a bunch of detail parts like SP and ATSF locos do. Maybe that's why I keep doing them?
Anyhow, details include:
BLMA cut levers, MU hoses, air hoses, sunshades, windshield wipers, rear view mirrors, and lift rings
Atlas bell
NSN horn repositioned between rear fans
NSN beacon
home made firecracker antenna
Atlas bell
Atlas large MU hose with BLMA receptacle covers
Microscale decals
Sunrise Enterprises Plow
Painted handrails and step ends
Z scale couplers
Digitrax DZ123 decoder
