Up this time is a Life Like GP20 lettered for the ATSF. There were a few good photos to work from on the 'net for this style of locomotive, and I also had a friend share with me some close up photos he took of one quite a few years ago. (Special thanks to Chris Kinoshita!) Since I model a later year than what this loco is numbered for, I changed the numbers on the cab and numberboards to reflect my modeling year. I had bought this loco off of ebay, and for some reason it was covered in oil. That oil had taken it's toll on the paint job, which had quite a few cracks in it all over the loco. After disassembling and then cleaning up the loco, I was hesitant to detail it, but went forward anyway. In the end, those cracks came back to haunt me, as weathering the loco has made them very prominent. Anyhow, here is the list of details to this loco:

Changed front window to be 2 separate windows
Custom cab and numberboard numbers using Microscale decals
Painted rear numberboards yellow
Added drop grabs all around
Cut outside brakes off on all trucks (ATSF style)
BLMA MU hoses, air hoses, cut levers, rear view mirrors and antenna stand
Custom made front light cover mounted on roof
NSN beacon
Relocated horn and added air line made out of wire
Atlas AC unit and mounting base
MT couplers installed
Digitrax DZ 123 decoder
Weathered with chalks.
As you can see in the pictures, the cracks all over the shell stick out due to the weathering. This is something I'll just have to live with.
